Healing Short Story Tear-jerking All Ages Rate:7.5/10

I won’t make any comment about this game since I’ve already forgotten most parts of the story. I may rewrite this article after the second run, and this post is only dedicated to showing that I have passed the game.

The story of Hoshiro blurs the line between the protagonist’s “reality” and “dreamscape”. It was performed on a super closed stage(on the train). This approach provides players with a smooth and cohesive experience, and as a single-linear narrative, it is very easy to understand the story.

In 2020, when I first heard about Hoshiro, I immediately associated it with Night on the Galactic Railroad, and that’s how I learned about the general framework and themes of this game - Dream, hope, and death…

Well, traveling to unknown places really gives me expectations yet it quickly falls short. The stories on the train are a bit boring, that may because I’m not a fan of trains… And the suspense part is also in a sense mediocre, not so horrifying. Nontheless it is a FANTASY story rather than a SUSPENCE story, it can still be considered acceptable!

Does that mean Hoshiro is bad? I think not. The story’s structure remains lucid - commencing with an introduction, followed by suspense, and culminating in a satisfying ending, pretty easy to understand, making it an ideal recommendation for novice players of VN & AVGs.

In the end, i want to say ‘I LOVE Neri!’, Neri, as an imouto style character, her character design is incredibly endearing!
